FIYC Announces new Flag Officer Changes:

The more eagle-eyed among you may have noticed some recent changes in the Titles of the club's Flag Officers.   Basically these changes are to bring our Titles in line with RL club Officer Terminology.   This should make it easier for people who sail in RL to relate to our team and know who does what.   I'm including a summary at the end of this with the new Titles and the incumbents.   Many thanks to Drw for getting this implemented, and for the new sign board at the Club House and especially the new flag pole that hoists the flag of the officer that is on the sim.

There is one important substantive change that is happening at the same time.  Palani Allen is being promoted from Head RD role to the new Flag Officer position of Fleet Captain.  This better reflects the importance of the role, responsible for the execution of our race program, recruiting and training RDs and maintaining the Race Calendar.  He has made very significant contributions to the club over the last couple of years- evidenced by rising attendances, and has some important initiatives under development (more soon!), and we thank him for that. 

You will also notice that Vickie Maidstone is retiring and in 2017 the Rear Commodore will be Dian4shen. Thank you Vickie for stepping up and contributing to FIYC and keeping our social activities going.
